Pumpkin Bread

Living in AZ, we really don’t get a fall so to speak but just the change in temperature sets this girl in fall mode. So a warm piece of buttered pumpkin bread and a hot cup of coffee just gets my day off to the right start.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a loaf pan with cooking spray.

In a large bowl, mix together melted butter and sugar. Stir in the eggs one at a time. Add pumpkin puree and sour cream.

In a separate large bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, ground cloves, ground cinnamon and nutmeg.

Pour the dry mixture into the wet mixture making sure to combine completely.

Once fully combined, pour into loaf pan.

Bake for 45-60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

Optional: If you enjoy nuts in your bread, just throw some in before you bake. Pecans taste great with this one.
