Homemade Taco Seasoning

Don’t you just hate being in the middle of cooking a recipe and realizing you are out of seasoning? It seemed like it was always happening to me when I needed taco/fajita seasoning so I decided to figure out how to make it myself. Here is a recipe for a homemade version using ingredients you most likely already have in your pantry.

Homemade Taco Seasoning

  • 4 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper



In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients. Put in a sealed container.


2 tbsp seasoning and 1/4 cup water replaces 1 packaged seasoning
