I’m going to be honest, I do not like broccoli. Like at all. But when I started to have children, I decided that I needed to at least attempt to eat the kinds of food that I want my kiddos to eat. So besides completely smothered in cheese, this is the only broccoli recipe I actually like. And best of all is my whole family loves it too!
Garlic Butter Steamed broccoli
A flavorful side dish
- 1 large bundle of broccoli, chopped
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Chop up broccoli and place in steam bag and steam in microwave. OR bring a large pot of water to a boil and boil the broccoli for 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
In medium saucepan, melt butter. Add garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and salt.
Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to lightly brown garlic.
Add broccoli to sauce and mix well.
Top with shredded parmesan cheese.
