When I first started baking cakes, I knew I needed a good filling but it took a while to find it. This literally has 2 ingredients and it’s so simple to make but so good. I always get compliments any time I add it to a cake.
Easy Vanilla Mousse Filling
So easy but so delicious
- 16 oz heavy whipping cream
- 1 (3.4 oz) box of instant vanilla pudding
Put a metal mixing bowl in the freezer for about 5 minutes.
Remove from freezer and pour cold heavy whipping cream into it. Beat for about 2 minutes on medium.
Add the instant vanilla pudding powder to the whipping cream and beat on medium another 2-5 minutes or until the mixture has thickened. You don't want it too thick as it won't spread easily.
Spread in between 2 layers of cake.
This is enough for a standard sized cake but if you are making a sheet cake size, I would double or even triple the recipe.
