Christmas Crack

There are tons of names for this easy treat but in my house we like to call it Christmas Crack. Takes about 10 minutes to make and everyone just raves about how good it is. It also holds up really well so it is a great addition to your holiday treat plate.

Ingredients

  • Saltine crackers (Usually it takes a little over a sleeve)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • Nuts-optional

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2

Foil and lightly spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Line up saltine crackers so it fills the pan. Do not overlap the crackers.

3

In a small saucepan, boil the butter and brown sugar for 5 minutes.

4

Remove from heat and spread evenly over all of the crackers.

5

Place in oven and bake for 5 minutes.

6

Remove from oven and immediately pour chocolate chips on top of the crackers. You can either wait for them to melt a little or put the pan back in the oven for about 30 seconds. Using a spatula, frost the crackers with the melted chocolate. Add chopped nuts on top if desired.

7

Put in fridge to cool and then break into pieces once it has hardened.
