Chocolate Fantastic Pie

When I started dating my now husband, I was introduced to what his family calls Chocolate Fantastic. This pie is well…fantastic! I’ve had plenty of chocolate pudding pies in my life but this pie is in a whole different category. It has 3 delicious layers and the crust is no ordinary crust, it has pecans in it which give the entire pie a little element of surprise.

For this recipe you will need to chop up a good amount of pecans. I absolutely love my little chopper! This one even has the measurements on the side so you don’t have to guess (Paid Link) https://amzn.to/30QoLSJ. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

A thick and creamy pudding pie

Ingredients

  • Crust
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1st Layer
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup cool whip
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • Mix all ingredients together
  • 2nd Layer
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 small boxes of instant pudding (1 vanilla and 1 chocolate)
  • Mix all ingredients together
  • 3rd Layer (Topping)
  • Cool whip
  • Chopped pecans

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2

Combine ingredients for crust (I do this by mixing with my hand) and flatten in a 9 inch pie pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes until crust is golden brown.

3

While crust is baking, make the second layer and put in refrigerator. After crust cools, add all layers and put entire pie in refrigerator.

Notes

I was told that this freezes well but I have not actually tried it.
