5 Ingredient Meatball Casserole

This is a dish I originally made when the hubs and I were doing Keto but it quickly became a favorite in our household. With only 5 ingredients and using frozen meatballs, this dish is an easy go to meal for a busy week. You could even put them on hoagie rolls for a meatball sub type meal.

Easy to make meatball casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen meatballs (I like Cooked brand)
  • 1 jar marinara sauce or pasta sauce
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • Italian seasoning to taste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place frozen meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or put them in a preheated air fryer for 10 minutes at 380 degrees.

In a round casserole dish, pour just enough marinara sauce to cover the bottom.

Once meatballs are done, cut each one in half (or leave whole) and place half of the meatballs on top of the sauce. Pour a little more sauce (about 1/2 cup) over the meatballs and sprinkle with 2 cups mozzarella cheese.

Layer the remaining meatballs on the mozzarella and pour more marinara over. Sprinkle remaining 2 cups of mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of parmesan cheese. Lightly dust with italian seasoning.

Bake for 15-20 minutes.
